Scotland's Highlands and North CoastThe chapel of St Mary at Crosskirk is said to be the oldest surviving ecclesiastical building in Caithness, probably built in the 1100s. We followed signs to a car park hoping to walk to it from there. It was a nice walk along the River Forss but we only got as far as a farmhouse ruin as the bridge across the river to St Mary's was closed 'deemed unsafe'. Previous | Album | Next |
